And fireworks! Indoors! Hou bono!!!

Frances and I went out for a quick run to Chinatown for some Chinese crullers & pancakes. Imagine our surprise when we found policemen at each entrance barring the way as the lot was full! We parked nearby figuring something was up but that tummies still needed filling first. We walked to the food court which was practically a ghost town - contrary to the capacity filled lot outside! We ordered our brunch and sat to wait. Shortly, people started streaming in, now this was the Saturday noon crowd we expected. Before our food arrived the sounds of heavy drums reverberated from across the plaza. Suddenly two gorgeous dragons enterd to dance and light fireworks to bring good luck on the first day of work following the New Year (6th day). Quite a nice surprise for us, and a joy to our meal.

We've since polished off our meal. The dragons have visited at least 2 more storefronts in that time. Very cool! For us, we just picked up a duck for dinner, we'll grab some groceries and return home.
